Hey all!
So this is my last post. I enjoyed this past time and I've grown a lot further as a dance dreamer.
Delving deep into the world that I'm so passionate about was such an eye opener. I had the chance to really learn more about dance and what style I enjoy more. Which is all of them! I'm going to keep on dance dreaming and work on all my technique.
Maybe i'll even make it onto DWTS!!! Here's hoping!
Thanks guys
Dreamin' of Dance

Dear Dancing With The Stars...
I have a bone to pick with this seasons DWTS! one, these are mostly dancers! two, why the hell am I not famous and on this show!
Ok, this season of my favorite show, Dancing With The Stars is kind of an unfair round. It's a lot of really gifted dancers/skaters. Skaters still have the dancing gene by the way! I want to see more inspiring and more guessing. Watching the stars now I can guess who's going to the end.
On a positive note, I'm not particularly an amazing dancer! All I need is to get famous! Any ideas anyone? Ok, it's my mission to get on this...
Speaking of ballroom. I love the tango! So sassy, strong, and sexy! Yep, I'm there... Maks? Wanna dance?

Independent Dance Movement
Hey all!
So great news... I'm going to be heading back to the dance classes! I'm a little nervous about it though, but still excited. It's been a long time since I've had a class and i'm going to be redoing my bar exams!
This news was brought on by a good friend of mine. She has been asked to teach dance again and is in charge of adult ballet and the bar exam classes. There's a few other classes I believe but this is going to be amazing! I don't have to be scared because she's got my back and will just be constructive criticism and not make me sad! Haha...
She will be teaching at Independent Dance Movement. She starts in April and as will I!

Missing for Weeks
Hey all!
Sorry I've been gone for a while. But there's a lot to catch you up on.
My Nine career is not to be! I auditioned a few weeks ago and the day was a disaster! First I went to the wrong theatre and turns out... IT WAS AT THE DANCE STUDIO ACROSS TOWN!
Then I walked into the dance audition and oh boy... I realized how long it had been. My kicks were a bit lazy in the sense that I wasn't sweeping from the floor. I kept flicking (BAD BAD BAD) and my jete was bent at the back leg. During the routine section I slipped and dropped to the floor in the most ungraceful of ways. Yep, it was not pretty. I had a cut on my foot, thigh and elbow and ripped my tights.
My vocal was good. Only problem was the acoustics were so echoey I kept getting thrown off my high notes. Again, OH BOY! Note for any theatre companies... Don't do your vocal auditions in a dance studio... Thanks!

Ballroom Blitz
Hey all!
This week I had a real hankering to focus on Ballroom. With Valentine's Day around the corner I wanted to think about the love and trust between a pair of ballroom dancers. Closely working with another person with grace and power makes this so alluring.

Ballroom dancers have many things in common with a good relationship. They need to communicate well, know each others strengths and weaknesses and it helps if they're good looking.
I have a treat for all of you ladies out there... A seasoned veteran on Dancing With The Stars... Maks and Val Chmerkovskiy. There's also two lovely ladies there for the men! Challenge, find those women's names!

More Nine Love!
Hey all!
This video is an add on from last post. It is a wonderful Example of different types of dance within one musical! Nine the musical has so many different types of dance. There's a sexy contemporary, jazz, ballroom, etc.
It is so interesting to find each character has a specific style of dance. That brings the character to another dimension. If you look around a club or local hot spot for dancing you'll see every person has a different style to them! It tells us so much about each person and who they are! Someone who is center dance floor busting out some risky moves is an extrovert. They love being seen and take big chances. Someone who just does a side step and bops their head is an introvert. This person doesn't mind the sidelines.
The video is an example of a spirited extrovert who loves the crazy world of an Italian movie. Kate Hudson knocks it out of the park with her bright smile and wild dance moves. Enjoy!!
